Monitoring Software
Home computers and Internet browsers allow parents to limit what their children can access on the Internet. Some parents go a step further by installing surveillance software.
Unlike filtering, surveillance software does not block questionable Internet usage. It simply reports on where users have been and what they’ve done. Because monitoring software is only valuable “after the fact”, we don’t recommend using without effective filtering, particularly for families with young children.
There are several computer surveillance products and services available, including Parents CyberAlert, which is available through the Amazon.com link pictured at the right. We also recommend the titles below, which are available via download online.
